UNI Names November Student-Athletes of the Month

This month's honorees are Molly Lembezeder (Peosta, Iowa), Dylan Peters (Denver, Iowa), Wes Washpun (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and Madison Weekly (Atkins, Iowa)
Molly Lembezeder - Swimming/Diving
Sophomore Molly Lembezeder was named MVC Swimmer of the Week for the week of Nov. 17 after a stellar performance against Nebraska-Omaha. Lembezeder broke her record in the 50 Freestyle over that weekend, plus nabbed three first place finishes. Lembezeder broke her school record by one one-hundredth in the 50 Freestyle, with a time of 23.63. Lembezeder's first place finishes today came in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle respectively. Lembezeder also had season-best times in the 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle with times of 51.84 and 1.54.01. Lembezeder would then break her records in the 50 and 100 Freestyles again, with times of 23.36 and 51.04 at the Kansas Invitational. Lembezeder continues to take first place in her events and has the top times of the Valley.
Dylan Peters - Wrestling
Dylan Peters knocked off two wrestlers in the top-15 and won his third Finn Grinaker Cobber Open championship in November. Peters beat No. 12 Ronnie Bresser of Oregon State and No. 13 Barlow McGhee of Missouri in dual meets. Peters' first win of the year was a first-period fall over Hofstra's Bryan Damon. He added a second pin in the opening round of the Cobber Open to move into a sixth-place tie for the most career falls among all Panthers. The junior remains unbeaten at 6-0 and is ranked seventh in the nation at 125 pounds. Peters has started every year with at least nine consecutive wins.
Wes Washpun - Basketball
Led the Panthers in scoring (16.3 ppg) and assists (6.5 apg) in the month of November. He scored in double-figures in each of UNI's six games in November. Washpun leads the Missouri Valley Conference and ranks tied for 16th in the nation in assists. Washpun was named the MVC Player of the Week for his play in wins over Stephen F. Austin and No. 1-ranked North Carolina. He averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and shot 63.6 percent from the field in leading UNI to wins over Stephen F. Austin and No. 1-ranked North Carolina to earn the MVC's top weekly honor. Washpun dropped in 21 points and handed out eight assists in a 71-67 triumph over No. 1 North Carolina. Washpun drained a 57-foot shot at the first-half buzzer. He then added 12 points and five assists in the second half to lead UNI back from a 16-point deficit. Washpun made 9-of-15 shots from the field, grabbed three rebounds and notched two steals vs. the Tar Heels.
Madison Weekly - Basketball
Madison Weekly averaged 32.0 minutes, 13.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.8 steals during the month of November. She started all five games during the holiday month, scoring in double-figures in four of the five games. She earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Cancun Challenge after knocking in 15 points against Georgia Tech and No. 25 Seton Hall. She shot 62.5 percent from the field and 75 percent from the three against the Yellow Jackets, adding seven boards and two steals.
